This garden wire set arrived in a simple cardboard box and contains x1 50 metre length of 2mm wire encased in a PVC coating, x3 tensioner turnbuckles, x10 eye hooks, x10 rawl plugs, x8 wire clamps, x20 aluminium crimping loops, x10 loop wire thimbles and an easy-to-follow user guide with clear images. The wire can be used for a variety of applications including for hanging lights and creating a washing line, but we are using these in our garden for climbing plants. I would say that installation isn’t completely straight forward as you will need wire cutters, pliers, a spanner, a drill (if installing into stone or brickwork) and a bit of determination, but the results are neat and aesthetic. Note that the ‘thimbles’ are impossible to pull apart as in the images however, if you twist the ends away from each other (like you do with jump rings in jewellery) and press the loop together again once installed, this is much easier. The components are made from 304 stainless steel so should be resistant to rusting and the twisted wire is encased within a vinyl layer to protect it long term. The wire is made up from a total of 49 thin wires twisted together to make a very strong cable and is vinyl coated to protect it from the elements, making it both waterproof and rust resistant. The wire has a high breaking strength and overall feels incredibly durable. The only problem I had during installation was the wire, as whilst unravelling it, the cable did become very tangled so we did have to spend about 20 minutes untangling it. We have installed the cabling set up into a wooden fence so had no need for the rawl plugs, but this addition does mean that you can install the cable into masonry as well. Otherwise, installation was straight forward with aesthetic, neat results. Priced at £19.99 (with an additional 5% off voucher valid until the 30th April 2025) at the time of reviewing, this seems like a good price for the quality of this cable kit and it is ideal for installation in the garden. The wire looks very neat and appears invisible from a distance, whilst still being highly functional for supporting plants. We are really happy with the final appearance and would be happy to recommend.

🔎 This set of wire comes neatly packed in a sturdy cardboard box. 🧡 I needed a piece of wire to attach to the wooden fence, for Jasmin and other climbers to keep them neatly attached to it. This set is easy to use, and helped me have plants organised and in place. Very durable, so I am sure it will last much longer than a simple garden wire. Great for roses too, as it is strong and can hold a big weight. Also good for pergolas and to create a temporary roof in your garden, or as a support for garden lights. 👎 Requires some DIY knowledge and drilling for installation. 💲 A great value for money set.

The Updokit stainless steel wire rope kit is a handy set for various DIY projects, though it's not quite as comprehensive as it might first appear. You get a 50-metre roll of 2mm coated stainless steel cable, which feels reasonably sturdy. The coating is a nice touch, adds a bit of protection, and makes it a bit smoother to handle. Included are 20 M2 aluminium crimping loops, these are small metal sleeves you squash onto the cable to create a secure loop. You've also got 10 M2 thimbles, which are little metal loops that you thread the cable through before crimping. This protects the cable from wear and tear where it loops. For tensioning the cable, you've got 3 M4 turnbuckles. These are adjustable metal devices that let you tighten or loosen the cable. They're about 14.6cm at their longest and 10.2cm at their shortest, with a 3.8cm body. Then there are 8 M3 wire rope clamps, used to secure the cable by clamping it together. They measure roughly 1.8cm by 1.2cm. To fix the cable to walls or posts, there are 10 vine eye hooks, which are about 6.5cm long, and 10 expansion tube bolts, which are 1cm long. The kit also includes a few other bits, like the crimping loops and thimbles, which are really quite small, roughly 0.9cm, 1.7cm and 1.5cm depending on the item. I used the kit to put up some climbing plants in my garden. It was straightforward enough to set up, though it did take a bit of fiddling to get the tension right with the turnbuckles. The cable itself seems strong, and the coated finish should help it last. I'd say it's a decent kit for basic garden projects or hanging lights, but if you're tackling something heavy-duty, you might want to consider a thicker cable. So, while it boasts "62 PCS Accessories," some items, like the 3 M4 turnbuckles, might be insufficient for larger or more complex projects given the length of the steel wire, as I found out. Any owner of a greenhouse will know that having good support for plants plants is really important, especially heavy croppers like tomatoes, cucumbers, melons and courgettes. Garden twine is okay, but it really deuterates in sunlight and never lasts more than a single season before it needs replacing. This super strong, plastic coated stainless steel wire and tensioning kit should last for many years and can easily be re-tensioned as, and when required. I have fitted two wires down each side of my 6m x 4m poly-tunnel and I still have over half a roll left to use on other garden projects. I think my wife is eyeing it up what's left on the roll to use it as an additional washing line. (it's certainly strong enough for the job) Very happy to recommend.

Habe das Drahtseil zum herstellen einer Kreutzversteifung vom Schaukelturm benutzt, da das Gerüst immer stärker am wackeln war, wenn mein Junior am schaukeln war. Beim Set ist schon recht viel dabei, um vernünftige Seilenden herzustellen. Um die Seilenden mit den geschlossenen Ringen zu verbinden, habe ich aus meinem Fundus noch ein paar Karabinerhaken hervorgeholt, da ich die Konstruktion bis auf die Ringe auch wieder demontieren möchte. Die Ringe zum einschrauben in die Wand sind nicht verschweißt und biegen sich bei großer Belastung auf.
